  1. Firkins and Churn making. There were firkins and churns made for taking butter and cheese to Cork and elsewhere. Timothy Shine who lived in the High St was a famous cooper and he made washing tubs, woodens pecks and pails.
    Weaving. There is a place in Coolagh called the "Weavers Gap" and a man lived there and he made cloth from the wool of the sheep. There was a man named Jeriamh Foley locally known as Jerry the Weaver had a weaving machine in the village of Kiskeam. The people would bring him, the linen thread which they had spun themselves from flax grown in the district and he made it into. coarse linen used for
