- When tea was brought into this parish scarcely any person knew how to use it. A traveller came to Ardfield and was going around selling tea. at about 5S per lb. The members of one house he visited bought a half pound of tea, and they thought they knew how to manage it. Next day they went making the tea, first of it was put into a pot of water and boiled on the fire for half an hour while stirring all the time as if it was meal then they strained the water off and put salt on the tea leaves and tried to eat them, but(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
