  1. Story of Giants
The following story is told of a rock which is in the townland of Derryduff in this parish and on which are some marks supposed to be those of fingers.
A giant stood on Mount Owen which is to the west of this parish and threw the rock to another giant who stood on Milane Hill on the south side of the parish.
They threw the rock from one to the other three times. When throwing it for the fourth time, instead of landing on Milane Hill, it fell at Derryduff, a townland between the two hills.
It is called "Lord Bantry's Rock" because when shooting in the district, Lord Bantry had lunch on that rock on several occasions.
