  1. The following were collected by Evelyn Glennon from her mother, Mrs. D. Glennon, Curnaseer, Kiltoom, Athlone. whose age is fifty years.
    One night a man was coming from rambling and he heard the Banshee crying and as he was coming along she was coming nearer to him. When he came to the top of the hill she crossed the road before him. When he went home he lay down on a settle bed that was in the kitchen and he fainted. His parents did not know what happened to him for a long times so after a while he told them the whole story.
