   This Holy Well was remarkable for the great relief or cure of wounds and sores on the bodies of Christians after washing the affected part in its waters. Tobernagreaghta was originally in the townland of Aughmagree in moor or bottom land now owned by John Stroker.
   The traditional story of why it changed its position is hereunder related. A noted English Lord, named Ormsby, who lived in the locality several centuries ago, was hunting in the moors adjoining the well when one of his favourite greyhounds broke his leg. Having heard locally of the cures wrought by washing the affected part in the waters of the well, he resolved to try its effects on the broken limb of his hound, saying , "if this well can heal Christians, surely it can heal my dog".
   He was sorely disappointed however and gave vent to his rage by cursing the Church of Rome for her vile superstition.
   The next moring there was not a drop of water to be seen in the well, for it dripped under the earth and broke out in another
