    Long ago when shoemakers were unknown the people of Drimoleague went about the country bare-footed. The people had no idea of what boots or shoes were and later shoemakers were established.
    The people depended on them for all their shoes, at first the shoe- maker's were not very well up in making boots and the first covering for the feet was made of wood and leather. These were the first shoes worn by the people and they called them clogs.
