- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)About two hundred yards from the school there is a large lane which leads from the high road to Scramogue River. It is called Legalaa lane and on the right handside of this land there is a spring well known as Legalaa well. Once upon a time this well was on the other side of the lane but one day a woman came and washed clothes in it and immediately the well disappeared and came up on the other side of the land. Below the well there is a stone which is supposed to be the covering of the well and on the shape of a foot and it is supposed of St Patrick.Within a mile of the school there is a mountain called "Sliab Ban". Once upon a time when "St Patrick was going through this district he went up this mountain.
He noticed their that the people went to bed very early and one day he asked one village woman why they went to bed so early. She told him that in the evenings lights appear in the valleys and who ever sees them will be dead(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
