    Roinn Roinn Postáil
    The old houses were all thatched in this district with the exception of a very rare one slated with flags. The thatch was procured from straw. There was a bed in the kitchen of every house and there were no rooms in it.
    The fire place was situated int he gable wall. The chimney was made of clay and wattles. There were houses with no chimneys and a hole in the roof and a pot to let out the smoke. Some houses had small windows with one pane of glass. The old floors were made of earth or flags. Half doors were very common long ago. Turf was used for the fire. Candles made
