- In the townland of Clegna, at a place called Corrigeen, over a hundred years ago, there were two great industries, one was the manufacture of hats and the big pot that did the most of the work in the hat making is to be seen to this day beside one of the houses on the rock.
The other was a smelting industry. The people for miles around came to have their metal pots fixed there and the molten metal was put into the holes in the pots and even new pots were made in the same furnace and the old people can show the site of the furnace to this day.
