  1. The local landlord belonged to the Coote family. The last of those were Sir Algernon and his son Sir Ralph (who is still alive) They are supposed to be deceased from the famous Charles Coote of Cromwell fame. Some of these were bad and some good. After the famine evictions were carried out and the people had to go to America. Their houses and small plots have disappeared entirely,they are now portions of large fields.
