  1. 1; When Curlews are heard screaming it is a sure sign of rain.
    2; When swallows fly high it is a sign of fine weather,when low of wet weather.
    3; It is supposed if a farmer robs a swallows nest his best cow will milk blood.
    4; Birds( such as thrush,Blackbird) singing in the winter is a sign of bad weather (generally frost or snow).
    5; When wild geese fly to the south,we are going to have snow,when going to the north the reverse.
    6; When crane go up the river it is a sign of fine weather,when down the river, the reverse.
    7;When stones come round a house it is a sign of bad weather.
    8; When crows are seen to be flying high together and making noise it is a sign of bad weather.
    9; The magpie; If a magpie cross your path,you are supposed to turn back or meet with bad luck.The following is a well known rhyme with regards to the magpie.

    "Five for coppers"
    "Six for Gold"
