  1. One day in November 1925 a man named Peter Boyle of Drumshannon Newbliss was going out with his dogs to hunt. He carried a charged gun, intending to shoot rabbits. He went over the fields from his house and it seemed that when he was going through a gap in the hedge he either pulled the gun after him or stumbled and fell and the gun went off and fatally injured him. It is not known how it happened to kill him. The dogs returned to the house and as Peter did not arrive his father and sister became quite anxious. They both went out across the fields to see if there was any sign of him coming and the found him lying
