    butter. The person on whom the trick was played, had to take the churn to where four townlands meet. Then wash the churn with mud and wash it out very clean. When you are doing the next churning all the butter will be back as good as ever.
    Misfortune will fall on the person who played the trick. When they will beggin to churn their churn will fill up with mud. All the milk must be used up with pigs The churn must be washed with salt. And when they churn again all the butter will come back and they will not have any other but their own.
    Some people used tie red tapes on the cows tails to prevent any tricks being played.
    Old people say it is very unlucky to clean out the byre after sunset on May-eve because you sweep out the luck.
