    Michaelmas - The Michaelmas Goose is killed some days before & eaten for dinner on this day
    St. Martin's Day - A goose is also killed in honour of St. Martin & on the Eve of this feast the blood of this goose is blessed & is kept in the house - to cure cattle that may be suffering from any disease.
    "St Martin's Blood" in olden days was considered a wonderful remedy for certain complaints.
    Good Friday - Eggs laid on this day are collected for Easter Sunday - at least one for each member of the family.
