This old legend is told about a woman who lived in this district. This woman had six children to provide for, and she had no food in the house. After a few days of extreme hunger the children got sick and were too weak to leave their beds. One night the children mother heard that oat-meal was to be got at a cheap rate in Manohamilton but she was only gone about a half mile when she saw standing beside the wall of a bridge a great big cake. She lifted the cake and brought it home with her and gave it in small pieces to the little children so as to make them strong. After that she never wanted any food. The woman name was Mrs Kelly and she lived in the townland of Mullaun in the Parish of Kilronan
