One early morning a man named Gilhooly was fishing in Lough Allen after some time he looked to one side of him and he observed a noble black horse grazing on the shore beside him. He immediately brought the horse home and on the following day he started off for a fair which was to be held in Drumshanbo in order to sell the horse. When he reached the Shannon which is near Drumshanbo in the County Leitrim the horse jumped the wall of the bridge over the Shannon. The man never saw him again.- Faisnéiseoir
