    On Hallow'een night I heard from an old man this story of a Hallow'een night many years ago.

    she could not move or speak. The strange appearance then spoke "Before this time next year you shall get your wish,, & you will be happy". It then vanished. The girl then ran home as fast as she could & told her parents, but they would not believe her saying she must have been dreaming. Some months after this she got a big legacy
    This was her wish, & her parents then believed her & were delighted at its fulfillment,

    An old woman was buried only a very short time.

    An old woman was buried only a very short time. One evening a neighbour of hers was working in a field digging potatoes and after sunset in the evening he heard the most awful noise.
    As he lifted his head to look around him he saw the same woman coming along at a very quick speed. She told him to run as quickly as he could and hide behind the bush that the gentry were coming on and that they would do the same to him as they did to herself. He did as he was told and they sent by as
