A man was going home one night after a gamble and on his way passing a house he saw a woman standing outside it.

A man was going home one night after a gamble, and on his way passing a house he saw a woman standing outside it. He saluted her and said, "isnt it a queer hour of the night you are out Mrs Shea?" She made no answer but disappeared into a hollow from which shone out a bright light. The man ran home as fast as he could. When he was nearly home he looked behind him and he saw a big animal like a hound. Soon after this the man died. Since then hounds seen at night are supposed to be evil spirits and people were afraid to meet hounds at night.
