    About fifty years ago another bad potato crop arose. There was no seed potatoes for the following year, but a little was supplied by the Goverment, the next year this was added on to the rates. These seeds were distributed at the poor house. The names of these were known as Champions.
    The food which the people ate was Indian porridge, this soon got scarce, and the people fell sick through hunger and cold they then died of a disease called cholera.
