  1. A long time ago Emylake was an old swamp and there were a lot of trees growing around. There were theives came and lived there. They gathered a pile of clay and stones and built their huts upon it. They went round the country and stole all the gold silver and jewellery they could get their hands on. They hid it in the stones and clay which they had piled. After a while the old swamp was known as Emy lake and what the theives piled up was the island. They gold silver and jewellery is hidden there yet. Some people dug for it but did not succeed in getting any of it. Every year at the beginning of May water horses run over the hills in the morning and come back in the
