Ar an leathanach seo

  1. About a century ago the people lived principally on three meals a day at all times of the year.
    In those days the people (lived) were much better users than they are at the present time and head to have as much work as possible done both inside and outside before breaking their fast. The season for this was when work had to be done in the fields both men and women had to go and do their share.
    Usually the first meal of the day consisted of porridge and a little tea and oatmeal or potato bread.
    The mid-day meal among the poorer classes consisted of mainly, potatoes and salt with buttermilk and some times a little butter and among the richer classes, meat broth or vegetables, and to the broth they would have oat cake on dumplings.
    The third meal of the day consisted of porridge or potatoes and in rare cases tea was made.
    Oat-meal bread was commonly used and was cooked before a hearth fire. This was very wholesome and when people were going
