    crossing the river where there were no bridges. There is one at Cooper's hill, Riverstown, one at Knockanarrow, and some others.
    There are no traditions or stories told about them. There used to be dances at cross roads in olden days. There are no heaps of stones near by anywhere.

  2. About a hundred years ago there was a road leading to Slligo which started at Coolbock and came across hills and across a farm owned by John Alexander, and then along a lane which leads past our dwelling house now.
    It crossed another hill in Drum district till it met the Sooey road
