  1. On my father's farm there several kinds of herbs and weeds. The names of the herbs are, Iron rood, Dandelion, Yeara, Clover, Combfree, Himlock.
    The names of the weed are, Dock, Fairy Fingers, Chick Weed, Water Cress, Nettle, Firra ban, Flaggers, Thistle, Buachalann, Crowdawn. Both herbs and weeds spread rapidly. The Nettle, Thistle, Crowdawn are harmful The Himlock is poisonous.
    The Chick Weed grows in boggy land or in a wet marshy place, the Thistle grows in good land, the Firra ban and the Fairy Fingers grow in bad land. All weeds make the land poor. Herbs are used as medicine. Combfree is used for sores and cuts. The roots of it are boiled in a small pot then they are taken out and put into a cloth and put on the cut or sore as a poultice. Iron rood is used for calves when they have black leg. It is about two
