  1. 1. Chickens in olden times used be reared under the dresser or in the corner in the houses and as soon as they would come out the shells would be pegged up on the loft in the belief that when the shells would be getting drier the chickens would be getting stronger.
    2. When water-fowl come out such as sucklings and goslings there should he a drop of blood taken from between their toes for good luck and to keep the weasel from taking them.
    3. Long ago there used be a drop of blood taken from the calfs ear the first Friday after he being calve to prevent him from getting diseases, some take some from the ens of his tail.
