- A Fairy TaleOnce upon a time there was a marriage in Killargue Church, after which the party came to the bride's home in the townland of Gubaderra, Killargue parish and barony of Drumahaire. They remained there until six o'clock that evening and then left for their new home. The bride's parents went also and locked their own house.Two hours later, a crowd of men, who were going card-playing were surprised to see the house lift -up to hear music and to see figures dancing. They came to the conclusion that the wedding party had returned, and decided to go nearer to the house and see.At his time the intending card-players were in the townland of Tullynacross and,having crossed a stream they saw the house in darkness and the music was now on the road. When they reached the road it seemed more distant still. This continued for us some time until at last the men got afraid, and fairies, who were in the house.Then they returned home quickly.
