    and is round in the end next the fire and narrow in the end where the timber handle is attached. They are made in Dublin. There is but one fire place in these country forges but in large cities where there is a lot of work to be done there's double fire places. Those smiths make all there own tools which consist of hammers tongs punches cold chisels sledges. The forges were generally roofed with sheets so that the sparks that spring from the red iron don't burn the roof. The tyres of the wheels get heated outside the forge in the open air which by means of heat expand and put on the wheels and by means of water which is got near the forge when applied will cool the tyre and tightin it.
