    We have a churn at home. It is made of wood. The parts of it is called the dash and the clapper and it is thirty years old. The clapper is used for keeping the milk from dashing and the dash is for beating the milk. There are four hoops on our churn. When the thick milk is into it, the dash is beaten against (the) it and after a while the butter begins to come on it. The way people know the butter is made is when the dash is clear. When a churning is going on a person comes in they always take a while of it before they go out because the old people say they would bring away the butter with them.
