  1. 1. Nobody ever made toys around here to the memory of the oldest inhabitant except Johnny Mullin of Ballygowan. He used to make dancing dolls out of wood and they used perform to the time of music in the hands of a musician or a handy man.
    2. Several of the older farmers used to make baskets for household purposes such as taking turf into the house or picking potatoes. The Downey's of Ballygowan used make cribs to catch birds.
    3. There were people in Carrocrin named Heagney's.
    They used make cleaves for picking potatoes and straining them.
    4. A man named Tim Kelly used make axles,
