  1. 1. In Abbey there were several old schools.
    There is a family living in one of them now by the name of Lynchs.
    2. There is another one in Ballygown in Jim Kelly's field. It is between old Tom Burke's and young Tom Burke's. There is no sign of it now as all the walls are knocked to the ground
    3. St Feichen had a school in Lacken about fourteen years ago. The Monastery was a school for about four hundred years.
