  1. A'man who worked on the roads was very lazy. He never did much work - except when the ganger was looking at him -. He always saw the ganger coming, and pretended to be very busy. The ganger suspected him so on this account kept an eye on him. One day the man forgot to keep a look out for the ganger, and did not see him coming. The ganger said he required an explanation "I'm sorry, Sir." said the man, "but I did not see you coming this time!"
