    In 1885 the first Land Purchase Act passed a measure to enable Irish farmers to buy their farms from the land owners.
    The Government placed 5 million pounds at the disposal of the Irish farmers so that they could borrow as much as necessary. Some of the Landlords were: Dudley Perfse of the Roxboro
