- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)After her and he saw a little woman spinning. He asked her did any hare come in and she said no. As she was spinning he saw blood dropping from her side. He looked around the house and he saw his hook stuck in the rafters. When he turned round again, the woman was gone and never seen again.
- One day, a man went out hunting. He had no one with him but his hound. As he was going through a bough (near killamonagh) he wakened share. He was greatly surprised to see that the hare had a white head. Anyhow, he put the hound after her. The hare did not seem to be a swift-footed animal. The hound followed her until at last the hare stood up against the hound and would not move. When the man came up to the spot where the hare and the hound were standing, there was not sight nor light of them to be seen. He heard afterword that this hare was a fairy woman who lived in the bog, and had a house underground. She took the shape of a hare, so that the hound would follow her, and so that she could keep him for herself. It was many a time after that, the hare and hound were seen running around the same bog. The owner of that hound often tried to coax him, but it was to no avail.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
