About seventy years ago two families lived in Slavery.

    (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)
On reaching the well he found to his sorrow, that the well had been closed up. He turned to go home again carrying his empty can. On going down the hell he noticed water springing up at his feet, and he went home and got a spade and dug a well.
This was immediately filled with beautiful spring water, and this well has never gone dry. In dry summers people bring barrels in carts, and cart it away, and there is still plenty of pure spring water for every body.
Soon after De Ermott opened the well he had closed, but there was no water, and ever since it has been dry.
About five minutes walk from this spot there is a well which is said to be a holy well. There is a large stone at this well, and the mark of two knees are on it.
it is said that St Patrick knelt on this stone.
