- Basket-making
Basket-making is carried on in Glen-a-Saggart but to a much great extent in Bridane, near Lismore on the banks of the Bride. The twigs are woven together by hand and as it is overlooking the river the twigs are easily obtainable as they grow near the waters edge.
Gate and Fire-crane making
In Camphire and Knockanore the manufacture of gates and fire-cranes is carried on by the Blacksmiths. They buy bars of iron in the hardware shops and say they are making a gate.
