- The Leipreachan
Years ago people in Ireland believed in a little fairy called the leipreachan. He spends most of his time in the open air mending fairy shoes. It was said that if you could lay hands on this little man, and not take your eyes off him, he would tell you where there was gold hidden.
He is about nine inches or twelve inches high and wears a little red suit with a red hat and red shoes. I have never met him yet, but if I ever do, I hope he will tell me where I can find a pot of gold. He is supposed to be a friendly little fellow, but old people say that it is better to frighten him, before he tells you about the gold.
