    Before the National schools ever existed very little education was to be had in the country.
    In Dwyer's barn which is in Patrick Dwyer's house now, on the cross of Stonecarthy opposite Patrick Egan's, there was an old school.
    The teacher's name was Mr Coffey a native of Waterford.
