- A Cross was found in the Lady's Island lake which is called Lough Togher. The cross is now in Lady's Island chapel. It is under the side altar next to the vestry.
- There is a church path going from the Highlands to the Lady's Island. It comes through Kearns' Street.
- In years gone by there was a monastery in Allenstown. The remains can still be seen. There was also a chapel in Rathmore.
- At the cross of the Shad there are many large stones. These date back to the penal days in Ireland
