  1. A boy named Patrick Furlong of Broadway was drowned in the Lady's Island lake in July 1921. He was bathing with some other companions. He got out of his depth and as soon as those with him saw him in difficulties they made every effort to save him, but it was all in vain. He went down under the water and was drowned. One of Patrick's companions got a boat and went out to look for the body. In a short time he got it and brought it ashore. He is buried in St. Iver's Cemetery.
