There was once a man living in Caherlistrane. He used to go to Tuam every Saturday on a donkey's back. This day as he was going to Tuam there were horses after him and he said to the men who were driving them he would be in Tuam before them. When they got to Tuam he was the first man they saw there. 1. When a coal falls off the fire somebody is coming into the house. 2. When you see two hens fighting it is a sign that a stranger is coming
