    One morning when Nora Nash of the Gleann Listowel was cleaning out the cage the parrot flew away.

    "When Simon heard the parrot was gone he got an awful fright. He searched the woods and valleys till he'd bring him back that night. He searched old Ballylongford Slieveeathail and Shronoun saing I will reinstate this parrot in honour of the Gleann"
    The parrot hid behing some bushed in the Churchyard near a grave. One Sunday morning a woman came up to pray to the grave and the parrot said to go away and she thought that it came from the grave and she got an awful fright and she ran away and told the police The ploice came up and they searched the Churchyard and they found the parrot behind the bushes.
