  1. We have hens ducks and geese at home and the hens and ducks lay eggs all through the year but the geese never lay until Spring. When the goose lays, the eggs are always used for hatching. First of all there are a number of eggs put into a box and then the goose sits on them and when she has the eggs hatched for one month the tiny young birds come out. The ducks eggs are used for hatching and also for eating.
