  1. Each year on the twenty-third of June there are bonfires lighted in everypart of the world. This fire is lighted in honour of Saint John, because it was He who went before the Lord teaching and preaching to the people of Gallilee.
    St John was a cousin of Our Lord and he was the son of Elizabeth and Zachary.
    He was a very good holy boy and he was the hope and delight of his parents. When he was but twelve years of age he left his fathers house and
