    Frost's bothairin, which is about two yards on the Limerick side of the Clochan a black man appeared, and accompanied them as far as the Black Gullet.Several times Tom Doherty spoke to his companion but received no answer, and was at a loss to understand the cause.
    When they had passed the Gullet the companion spoke, and asked him if he had seen anything + Doherty declared he had not. Then the companion told why he had not spoken all that time from the bothairin to the Black Gullet.
