On the farm now owned by Frank McIntyre, Skeagh- adjoining the new line & on the opposite side of the road from Drumkeery Lake there were four tenants living. The present owner's father, John Patrick, remembered them. During his grandfather's (Peter McIntyre's) time the landlord - Hudson carried out a drainage scheme in that area, the tenants being obliged to provide the stones Peter McIntyre was ordered to knock these houses and fill the drains but he refused.
The landlord then ordered Adam Little of Corraceeran to do the work. He came with horse and cart. Knocked the houses with a crowbar & completed the work and Peter McIntyre was obliged to pay him for his time.
When the New Line was build--from Corglass cross to Kilcross the clay was carted on to the adjoining farms, mixed(continues on next page)- Informant
