  1. Cure of the Mumps. Put the donkeys winkers on the person who has the mumps. Then you lead the person to the pig-sty. When going in he rubs his face to the right side of the door jamb. He is led round the sty three times saying:-
    Leicneach, leicneach, s' cuigat de mucna, mucna, mucna, s'cugar de leicneach,
    On coming out he rubs his face to the left jamb of the sty.
    The Cure of the Sty. Get ten gooseberry thorns. Point each one at it saying In the name of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Throw the tenth away. Do the same with remaining thorns, each morning throwing one away till all are thrown away.
    Cure of the Dirty Mouth. A child who never saw its father breathes three times into the person's mouth, saying each time "In the Name of the Father and of the Son, and of the Holy ghost."
    Cure of the Toothache. Go to a graveyard and pull a tooth out of a skull and you never have the toothache again.
    Another Cure. As Saint Peter sat on a marble stone. Our great God came to him all alone and
