  1. In the upper end of the parish of Drumgoon there is a place called Pulthy. It is a little valley surrounded by rocks and steep hills. A river divides it from the parish of Kill. In the heart of this valley is a rock called the Mass Rock. It is about four feet high and about the length and breadth of an ordinary table. In the face of this rock is a hole the shape of a long drawer where Mass Books and other holy things were hidden. In the year 1924 Father Laurence Galligan then a curate in the parish led a procession to this ancient spot.
