- The Saint connected with the Parish in which I live is Saint Anne. Killann got its name for this Saint. About two miles from our house there are old ruins. Long ago there was an old chapel but there are only old wall's left now. There is a graveyard beside this chapel and old residents say she was buried there. There is now a beautiful chapel erected beside our house.
Over in Eddy Reilly's field there is a well. This well is called St Anne's Well. My Grandfather told me he often saw people going to this well with crutches and coming back cured. A man named Shirley had a sick dog and he brought the dog to the well and washed it in the water and after that there were no more cures at the well. There are some prayers said to her. This saint is not the mother of the Blessed Virgin. There are no special day's observed as a holiday in the parish in honour of this saint.- Bailitheoir
