  1. Get five or six raw potatoes. Wash them thoroughly. Get a square piece of tin and make holes in it with a nail and take each potato in turn and grate it till all is in mash. Then get a fine cloth and put the mashed potatoes in it and squeeze the water out of them and leave them over and afterwards make starch out of them. Take the mashed potatoes, put them on a board and add a small quantity of flour and a pinch of salt to this and work this with the hand and make it into a nice cake Have a greased pan on
