  1. A Local Song

    Oh! gallant sons of Breffney

    Oh! gallant sons of Breffney
    From town and verdant dale
    And Breffney's winsome daughters
    From dell and flowery vale
    To-day you are rejoicing
    Your singing fills the air
    And your joyous voices hailing
    The men who beat Kildare
    II
    Oh! long shall you remember
    And long shall you recall
    That Sunday in September
    Just near the season's fall
    When Breffney showed the world
That the North is still alive
And won the glorious football crowd for nineteen thirty five.
    III
Oh! hard and cold must be the heart
    That won't with you rejoice
And with the fervour of your soul
    Join with your melodious voice.
    In hailing this great victory
    Which was won beyond compare
    When Breffney's blue clad champions
Beat the men of famed Kildare.
