   And its perfections I'll describe and show
   To all who like its strange effects to know.
   For such a box in any age or clime
   Was never known down to the present time.
   It shines in darkness like a star by night
   Pandora's box was never half as bright.

   And the pure snuff which it contains inside
   Surpasses all that e'er was ground or dried.
   It fees the good, the gentle and humane
   From every ailment, grief and metal pain.
   But on the bad, an ill effect it takes
   A bad man's nose it almost burst and breaks
   Where'er he takes this penetrating snuff
   His rugged features are convulsed and rough
   His mouth flies open and his roaring nose
   Like some old trumpet rudely puffs and blows.

   'Tis of a lawyer I do write
   Who had one only daughter,
   She was a virtuous beauty bright
   But mark what followed after.
   He uncle died I do declare
   He left her a grand profession
   Her father was of her to take care
   Until she reached discretion.
